The Nasa community in Colombia, who live near a volcano believe that that the volcano is alive and needs respect and care. They have local indicators that help predict and prepare for eruptions and rituals and prayers that they believe calm the volcano and nature. Community groups work together for disaster management and conduct reforestation and rehabilitation projects to restore environment and livelihood.
